LG has launched a remarkable device with technology we have never seen in the smartphone world before. The LG G8 ThinQ Black comes with Hand ID. Because the sensors on the front can recognize your blood vessels, you can unlock your phone in a safe way by placing your hand above it.

In addition to Hand ID, the G8 is packed with other useful features. There is a 3.5mm jack for music lovers. Quick charging is possible thanks to the USB-C port and Quick Charge 3.0. The QHD screen is an OLED panel, which makes economical use of the 3500mAh battery.

Hand ID for several tasks

Besides unlocking your phone, Hand ID is also useful for other tasks, like controlling the volume or starting apps. When your hands are dirty from cooking, you can easily unlock the black G8 without touching it!

Because there's a notch at the top of the display, the OLED panel takes up almost all space on the front. Because of this, the 6.1-inch screen is easy to use with one hand. You won't miss a single detail when watching a movie, thanks to the 3120x1440 pixel ratio.

Superfast Snapdragon 855 chip set

To support all of the useful features, the black G8 ThinQ is equipped with a Snapdragon 855 processor from Qualcomm. No app is too much for the G8 to handle! In combination with 6GB RAM, the processor can perform multiple tasks at the same time without any problems!

Many sensors to unlock

Besides Hand ID, it is also possible to use the ultra-fast fingerprint sensor located on the back. The sensor on the front scans your face in 3D, making face recognition an option as well. 3D scanning is much safer and can't be fooled with a picture of your face.

Premium glass design

Both the front and the rear are made of glass, which gives the phone a premium look. Because the sides are rounded, the front and back flow seamlessly into the metal casing. The cameras don't stick out at the back, which is definitely a plus. It makes the chance of breaking a camera lens a lot smaller!

The screen as a speaker

You won't find a speaker at the top of the screen. LG chose to place a special speaker under the display. This way, the screen acts as a sound box for the speaker. You'll hear the person you're speaking to over the phone even better, and the placement of your ear is less important.

The black G8 is water and dust resistant, reducing the risk of water damage. The phone also has a MIL-STD certification, meaning that the smartphone is very resistant to falls and scratches.

The front camera consists of an 8-megapixel sensor that takes good selfies without any problems. There are two cameras at the back that'll always take beautiful photos with cool effects like the bokeh effect.

The LG G8 only needs to charge once a day, thanks to the battery with a capacity of 3500mAh. The USB-C port at the bottom charges the battery in no time with Quick Charge 3.0, so you'll always have a battery with enough power.

Android Pie 9.0 with LG UX

The G8 runs on an Android operating system called Android 9.0 Pie. To change the user experience a bit, LG added their own software skin. This makes the icons look a little bit different, and it adds more settings as well.
