Connecting with bluetooth on iPhone or iPad

Bluetooth allows you to connect your iPhone or iPad wirelessly to other devices. You can play music through Bluetooth headphones or speakers, or use compatible accessories such as smartwatches and fitness sensors. For the connection to work, Bluetooth must be enabled on your device. You can turn on Bluetooth and connect a compatible device in just a few steps.

How to connect your iPhone or iPad to a Bluetooth device

1

Open Settings

Open the "Settings" app on your iPhone or iPad. Then tap "Bluetooth" to access the Bluetooth settings.

2

Enable Bluetooth

Turn on the switch next to "Bluetooth" if it is not already enabled. Your iPhone or iPad will then automatically search for available Bluetooth devices nearby.

3

Prepare your Bluetooth device

Turn on the device you want to connect, such as your headphones or a speaker. If necessary, activate the device's pairing mode so that your iPhone or iPad can detect it. The method for activating pairing mode depends on the device.

4

Select the device you want to connect

In the Bluetooth settings, look for the name of the device you want to connect under "Other Devices" or in the list of available devices. Tap the device to establish a connection. If prompted, confirm the pairing request or enter the displayed code.

5

Check the connection

Once pairing is complete, the device will appear in your list of connected Bluetooth devices. You can now use it with your iPhone or iPad. In many cases, previously paired devices will automatically reconnect when they are turned on and within range.

Can't find or connect to your Bluetooth device?
Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your iPhone or iPad and that the device you want to connect is nearby. Also check that the accessory is turned on and in pairing mode. If the connection still does not work, try turning the Bluetooth device off and on again, or restart your iPhone or iPad. Keep in mind that some Bluetooth devices require a dedicated app or a specific setup process.
