With mobile data, you can connect your iPhone to the internet while you're on the go, without needing a Wi-Fi network. This allows you to browse the internet, send messages, and use your favourite apps. Normally, the required settings are configured automatically through your SIM card or eSIM. If your mobile internet connection is not working, you may need to adjust the Access Point Name (APN) settings manually. You can set up your mobile data in just a few steps.
Open the "Settings" app on your iPhone. Then tap "Cellular" or "Mobile Data" to access your mobile internet settings.
Make sure "Mobile Data" is enabled. If you use multiple SIM cards or eSIMs, select the mobile line you want to use for your mobile data connection. If your internet connection is already working, no further settings are required.
If you need to set up your internet connection manually, look for "Mobile Data Network" or "Mobile Data Options". Depending on your device and mobile provider, you may be able to change the Access Point Name (APN) settings here. The available menu options depend on your mobile provider and software version.
Enter the required APN settings in the corresponding fields. You can obtain the correct details from your mobile provider. Depending on your provider, you may also need to enter a username or password in addition to the APN. Only change settings for which you have the correct information.
Apply the settings by returning to the previous menu or confirming the changes if a corresponding option is displayed. Make sure "Mobile Data" is enabled and temporarily turn off Wi-Fi. Then open a website to check whether your mobile internet connection is working.
Is your mobile internet not working?
Check that your SIM card or eSIM is active, mobile data is enabled, and you have sufficient mobile network coverage. Restart your iPhone if necessary and check that the APN details have been entered correctly. If the "Mobile Data Network" option is not displayed, your mobile provider may manage these settings automatically. In this case, you cannot edit the APN settings yourself. Contact your mobile provider if the connection still does not work.
