You can change the language on your iPhone or iPad at any time to suit your preferences. This is particularly useful if your device was set up in a different language or if you prefer to use the menus and settings in another language. Changing the device language affects the language of the user interface and many apps. You can set your preferred language in just a few steps.
Open the "Settings" app on your iPhone or iPad. Then tap "General" to access the general device settings.

Confirm your selection and set the new language as your preferred device language. Depending on your software version, you may be asked whether you want to use the selected language as your primary language. Confirm the corresponding option to apply the new language to your iPhone or iPad.
Wait for your iPhone or iPad to apply the new language. The menus and system settings will then be displayed in the selected language. If you also want to adjust country-specific settings such as date formats, number formats, or currencies, you can change the region under "Language & Region".
Good to know: Not all apps automatically switch to the new device language. Some apps have their own language settings or only support certain languages. Changing the device language also does not affect your personal data, photos, or installed apps. You can change the language again at any time through Settings.
